Lisa Gruenbaum

Co-President

Lisa Gruenbaum joined the Hillel community when her son Parker was just a few months old. She and her husband Jason now have four kids: Parker (12), Taylor (10), Grady (6) and Riley(3) and enjoy living in the heart of the Beverlywood neighborhood. After nearly eight years working in the college counseling field both at the University of Pennsylvania and Shalhevet High School, Lisa decided to focus on family and community by being involved as Co-President of the PTA. She and Courtney previously ran the Book Fair together for many years. Lisa grew up in NJ and made the move to Los Angeles after college at NYU. In her down time Lisa enjoys running, yoga, and all things in the health and wellness category, and she has even finished six marathons running with her dad!! She also loves being a baseball-mom, cheering her kids on at their games and all of their other activities.

Courtney Rosenthal

Co-President

Courtney Rosenthal and her husband Gabe have been proud Hillel parents for the past five years. They currently have two children enrolled at Hillel. Benjamin, who is entering Pre-1st and Leo, who is entering Nursery. Courtney has a background in teaching and in Special Education, which gives her a unique perspective and valuable experience when working with the PTA.

Courtney received her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the Sy Syms School of Business program at Stern College, and her Master’s in General and Special Education from Touro College in New York.

When Courtney is not with her family or the PTA, she works as a professional organizer for homes and businesses. Courtney is honored to be a parent at this wonderful school and to have joined the PTA. She is motivated to help the school continue to grow and excel in all of their endeavors.

Sharona Moheban

Treasurer

Sharona and her husband Arman are the proud parents of 3 beautiful children.
Eleanor is a Hillel graduate and currently a junior at Shalhevet high school, Ariel attending Hillel 8th grade and Adelia attending Hillel 4th grade.
Over the past 14 years at Hillel Hebrew academy Sharona had a deep passion and love for the community involvement by creating a better and healthier environment with strong Jewish values for our Kehilla.

Professionally Sharona is a Chemical Engineer graduate from school of Engineering ``Ben Gorion university`` in Israel and she received her PhD degree in Chemical engineering from ``University of California, Los Angeles``. Currently working part time in Pharmaceutical research and development and dedicating the remain of her time to her 3 kids, her family and Hillel community.

Rivka Scheinfeld

Secretary

Rivka was born and grew up in Los Angeles. She has extremely close ties with Hillel Hebrew Academy being a graduate of the school. She also graduated from YULA and CSUN (with a degree in business). After living in Junction City, Kansas for 3 years, while her husband Moshe was stationed on active duty at Ft. Riley, they moved back to Los Angeles.

Rivka and Major Moshe are the proud parents of 3, Baruch HASHEM, wonderful children - Tamar (13), Batsheva (11), and Yudi (10) who are all current Hillel students. The warm and caring hashkafah of Hillel, as epitomized by the Head of School Rabbi Sufrin, is what drew them to the school. Her devotion to Hillel as a center of Torah study, mitzvot/chesed performance, and academic excellence is what inspires her to get involved in the PTA.

Danya Hoenig

Website Developer, Past Treasurer

Danya and her husband, Jon, are the proud parents of 3 beautiful children - Ella Rose in 6th grade, and Jacob and Mitchell, both Hillel graduates, are at Shalhevet High School. Over the past 17 years at Hillel Hebrew Academy, Danya has watched the school blossom and grow, especially under the guidance of Rabbi Sufrin's loving leadership and vision.

Professionally, Danya is a Physician Assistant (PA), specializing in plastic surgery at her husband's eyelid and facial plastic surgery practice in Beverly Hills. In her free time, Danya enjoys hiking, yoga, photography, working out, and reading.

Naomi Solomon

Communications Director

Originally from Philadelphia and her husband from Israel, Naomi and Yehuda planted roots in Los Angeles over twenty years ago. They are proud to have been a part of the Hillel community for the past seven years. Currently, all three of their children are attending the school; Evyatar (Seventh Grade), Naor (Fourth Grade) and Anaya (Pre-1).

Naomi is a professional photographer with a BFA from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University including a semester abroad at Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem. She specializes in reportage and birth photography. Additionally, she is the Executive Director of the Happy Minyan. Yehuda, who was raised on Moshav Moddin, is the lead singer of Moshav and the chazzan of the Happy Minyan. Together they prioritize being an active part of this vibrant Jewish community. In their spare time they love to travel and box.

It’s an exciting time to be a part of the PTA team and Naomi looks forward to this opportunity to give back to such a wonderful institution that stands at the center of Jewish education in Pico-Robertson.
